The Best way to explore Murchison falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is by taking part in our 8 days Uganda Safari. This Safari starts and ends in Kampala or Entebbe but involves a cocktail of activities that include Hike to the top of the falls, game viewing, boat cruises, chimpanzees treks, guided walks through Bigodi wetland Sanctuary, gorilla trekking, cultural tours and conclude it with unwinding on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 1: Pick-up from any location in Kampala and drive to Murchison falls National Park.
On this day you will be picked up from any location in Kampala for a road transfer to Murchison falls National Park, the largest and oldest National Park in Uganda and home to four of the big five animals. After 2-3 hours of scenic driving, break your 7-8 hours’ journey at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and a chance to see numerous savannah wildlife species.
After over 2 hours of tracking the Rhinos, enjoy lunch from Amuka Safari Lodge and proceed to the Park for the hike to the top of the falls, diner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive along the Northern banks of River Nile and Launch cruise to the bottom of the falls.
After enjoying your breakfast at the Lodge, head out for the morning game drive on the northern banks of Nile River where the highest population of the Park’s common elands, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, spotted hyenas, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, Oribis and warthogs will be found. After 3-4 hours of this informative game viewing experience, drive back to the Lodge for a sumptuous Lunch.
Your afternoon is another exciting moment of wildlife encounter and birding experience as you undertake a boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison falls. While on this activity, expect to see crocodiles, Hippos, Uganda Kobs, elephants and buffaloes in the shallow waters or along the banks of the River. Several bird species including the African fish eagles, pink-backed pelicans, cormorants, egrets, Kingfishers and herons should not be missed during the boat cruise. After spending quality time exploring the beauty of this Park, drive back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Depart Murchison falls National Park and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
Leave Murchison falls National Park after breakfast and drive to Kibale Forest National Park. This journey lasts 7-8 hours with en-route Lunch in Fort portal Town and arrive the Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight. The drive from Murchison to Kibale involves relishing views of the countryside, Albertine Escarpments and many other en-route attractions.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest and nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
An early breakfast starts off your chimpanzee trekking adventure, is followed by transfer to Kanyanchu Visitor Center for briefing and later venturing into the forest under the guidance of a Park Ranger. With your packed Lunch, drinking water, snacks and trekking gear enter the forest to search for the chimpanzees and this lasts 1-3 hours.
Upon finding these endangered primates, spend one hour studying their remarkable behavior and photography. After this life-changing chimpanzee trek, return to the Lodge for Lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon spend time within Bigodi wetland Sanctuary through a guided nature walk where at least 6 primate species and plethora of wetland and forest bird species will be encountered. Get on the safari vehicle for a drive back to the Lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (in south-western Uganda) via Queen Elizabeth National Park (western Uganda).
After a nice breakfast at the Lodge in Kibale Forest National Park, meet up with your safari driver for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your ultimate gorilla trekking experience.
To make the journey more exciting, drive via Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will undertake a short game drive and reach Bwindi in the evening. Lunch is en-route and the drive will reward you with views of the tree-climbing lions, Uganda Kobs and Topis among others.
Day 6: Bwindi ultimate gorilla trekking experience.
Even after travelling the whole World, no wildlife experience is more fulfilling than spending time in the presence of the giant apes in their natural habitat. This chance can be got on day of your safari where you will trek over 5 hours for them and spend one hour in their midst. I can assure you that it’s the best one hour of a lifetime.
Have breakfast and drive to the Park Headquarters for the 30-45 minutes’ briefing session that ends by 8am when you finally have to enter the jungle. Trekking is generally strenuous and lasts 1-5 hours but once found, excitement of seeing mountain gorillas is greater than the challenges of seeing them. Drive back to the Lodge for Lunch and rest for the entire afternoon/evening.
Day 7: Connect to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
Be up early and partake of the lodge’s breakfast before connecting to Lake Bunyonyi. Be treated to magnificent views of the terraced hills and Lake Mutanda before arriving at the lakeshores in the afternoon for lunch.
Meals with breathtaking views of the tranquil waters of the Lake and sounds of singing birds are memories you will forever hold dear to your heart.
Take on a boat ride to some of the spectacular Islands in Lake Bunyonyi especially Akampene and Bucuranuka Islands that leave you marveled with not only their beauty but also interesting and rich histories. Visit them and leave the area totally astonished. Return from these Islands through a boat ride and drive back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Travel back to Kampala.
After the previous seven days of exploring Uganda’s top National Parks, the eighth day marks the end of your safari. This is usually the saddest day of your trip because you have to say goodbye to what brought you happiness.
Have breakfast and check-out of the Safari Lodge/Resort or Hotel and head to Kampala. The 8-9 hours’ drive comes with several stopovers including Lunch break and arrive Kampala in the afternoon.
